Hacienda Misiones
Hacienda Misiones
Introducing the white series: a place for coffees that don’t quite fit into our regular line-up but are not wild or weird enough for the black series either. The white series will be a home for unique, high end coffees processed in a more traditional style. These will all be exceptional coffees that we fell in love with, but might just be too expensive for your daily cup.
This white series release is a natural processed Sudan Rume from Hacienda Misiones in Colombia. Sudan Rume is an ancient landrace variety that was originally cultivated on the Buma plateau in South Sudan. It is characterized by a very floral, aromatic and complex taste profile with a silky texture. The low yields however make it a rare variety and exceptional lots are hard to come by. So it is no surprise that finding this gem made us very excited to share it with you.
Hacienda Misiones is a traditional coffee plantation in Mesitas del Colegio, in the Cundinamarca Department of Colombia. Founded in 1899, the farm boasts over a century of coffee history and is now managed by the next generation. It stands for meticulous cultivation, a clear focus on quality, and a responsible approach to both people and nature. A central aspect of the work at Hacienda Misiones is its social and sustainable approach. The farm prioritizes fair working conditions, transparent processes, and long-term prospects for its employees. Training, safe workplaces, and social support programs are as much a part of its philosophy as the respectful use of natural resources.
