Las Moritas

This Pacamara from Las Moritas stood out for its very clean and 'purple' flavour profile. We tried really hard but couldn't find a better way than to describe the flavours as being purple, specifically the kind of raspberry flavor you find in the Belgian Cuberdon sweets. It hits the spot for that fruit forward cup while still being a clean, washed coffee. The creamy body, especially as espresso, only adds to its complexity.

Don Higinio and his wife Doña Aura bought their first small plot of land in 1988, naming it San Jose Las Moritas. Before the purchase of Las Moritas wasn't a coffee farm but tomatoes, beans, potatoes and corn were grown on the land. It would be the first of many farms Don Higinio and his wife would acquire over the years. Initially they only planted less than a hectare with coffee trees, but every year they purchased more land for coffee production. Now over a dozen of different varieties are planted on the farm.
