El Matazano

This is our second coffee from Honduras, El Matazano. What makes these coffees special is their complex and unique flavor profile that reminds us of a combination between coffees from Mexico and Kenya, origins we are both very fond of.

This cup is unique because of the variety Lempira and the quality is outstanding. It makes a complex and comforting cup with taste notes of apple, white chocolate and a raisin-like sweetness. Yet it is very clean and has a velvety mouth feel.

This is the second of two coffees from the same region, both from the Intibuca project by Nordic Approach. This project is focused on empowering smallholder coffee producers by giving them direct access to buyers, ensuring fair pricing, promoting coffee quality and providing transparency in the supply chain.
